Getting started (Sellers)

In order to reach as many potential buyers as possible, it is recommended to offer shipping. This way ShareWine’s more than 20,000 users can bid on your wine. Here is how to get started:

  • Enable shipping to your own country and EU

    • Add your shipment costs for 1 bottle of wine, 2 bottles of wine, 3 bottles of wine etc.

    • The cost you enter should cover the packaging costs and the estimated shipping costs you will have. These costs will be charged to the buyer at checkout.

IMPORTANT: Please note that high shipping costs can be a serious barrier for many buyers, since they factor in all costs when deciding whether to bid or not. So make sure you set fair shipping costs. You can look up the shipment costs on your shipping provider’s website to get an idea.

  • Set the number of days you expect to ship within

  • Once done press Save.

Preparing your packaging

Wine bottles can be vulnerable, so as a seller it's highly important to ensure that your bottles travel in perfect condition.

Packaging specifically designed for wine is not only essential to guarantee secure shipping, but also guarantees that your bottles meet the shipping providers' packaging guidelines in case of any mishaps. We have created a guide to packaging so you know exactly what to do.

To make it easy for you, we also offer a flexible solution where you can order the quantities you need directly on ShareWine.

Shipping the bottle

Once you have sold your wine, it is time to send the bottle to the new owner eagerly waiting to add the wine to his or her collection.

After packing the wine in the appropriate wine packaging, you book a collection with your shipping provider of choice or hand in the package at one of their dropoff points. Here you can see the closest dropoff points to you.

Once the package has been handed in, all you have to do is update the shipment in ShareWine by:

  • Selecting the courier you use

  • Enter the package number

  • Mark the shipment as sent

This will allow the buyer to follow the bottle’s journey via Track & Trace.

Receiving payment

Once the bottle has been safely received by the buyer, it is time to release the payment to you.

Delivery status is typically updated on ShareWine 1-2 times a day, but to speed up the process you can ask the buyer to mark the shipment as received. They can do this under Details on the purchase.

Now the payment will be on it's way to you. 💸
