Luce della Vite IGT 2000 2000

One of the few 18 liter bottles of this fantastic 18 l LUCE 2000 wine on the market. You get the bottle in the original wooden box with very nice engravings on the box which has a magnetic lock. Luce is the first wine made with Sangiovese and Merlot grapes from the Montalcino area. The collaboration between the Marchesi de' Frescobaldi family and Robert Mondavi gave rise to the idea of ​​combining Merlot's roundness and softness with the structure and elegance of Sangiovese from the Brunello di Montalcino area. Lamberto Frescobaldi has been in charge of the winery since 2002 and continues the story of Luce in the Brunello di Montalcino area. Luce is known worldwide as a "super Tuscan" wine. It combines the tradition of Sangiovese - typical wine of this area - with the innovation of Merlot, which was brought to Montalcino in the 70s. This 2000 season was characterized by early spring rain followed by a long period of sunshine. A mild summer with occasional showers prevented drought, while the heat in the second half of August benefited the sugar concentration of the grapes, which ripened early and displayed rich tannins and excellent fruit aromas. 2000 Luce, ruby ​​red in colour, has an extremely intense bouquet that offers a variety of fruit aromas. Currants and wild strawberries give way to spicier aromas of licorice and cloves, which are enhanced by tobacco notes. On the palate, this wine is initially soft and seductive, with an acidity that blends harmoniously with the wine's fine structure and tannins. The finish is complex and long lasting.
