Vosne-Romanée
It doesn't get more legendary than Vosne-Romanée. This small commune, geographically located as a natural epicenter with Nuits-Saint-Georges, Volnay, and Pommard to the south, and Clos Vougeot, Gevrey Chambertin, and Chambolle Musigny to the north, has the highest density of Grand Cru vineyards not just along Côte de Nuits, but in all of Burgundy. There's a truly mesmerizing selection of wines listed from a-list domaines like:
Domaine Bizot

Nuits-Saint-Georges
Nuits-Saint-Georges, located in the southern Côte de Nuits, is in many ways a sweet spot if you ask us and many others Burgundy lovers.
The commune strikes a great balance between this super elegant, however slightly more robust, structured style, and offers an attractive price-to-quality ratio compared to the aforementioned appellations. Perhaps this is because no Grand Cru vineyards are located here. Instead, the commune is home to a string of brilliant Premier Cru vineyards, which you really got the opportunity to explore now, as we've curated an extraordinary selection for the occasion of this special auction.
Among the wines available, you'll find plenty to choose among from famous vineyards such as Aux Murgers, Aux Cras, Aux Boudots, Les Herbues, and Aux Chaignots. So, if you're on the lookout for bottles for a tasting, you'll likely find the best options here for both horizontals and verticals:
Gevrey-Chambertin
Gevrey-Chambertin also has some of the most prestigious vineyards in Burgundy, with the Grand Cru of "simply" Chambertin, at the top of the podium, closely followed by Ruchottes-Chambertin, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze, and Mazis-Chambertin, as well as Premier Crus that are famous for providing strong competition to the Grand Crus in terms of quality. Once again, these are ultra-rare wines that are among the most sought-after in the world. Luckily, we got you covered. Don't miss the selection from:
Chambolle-Musigny & Morey-Saint-Denis
Some wines has the ability to cross all fences and fly straight into your heart. That's how we believe many feel about Chambolle. They rarely roar; instead, they excel at charming with their velvet structures and shining souls of refined florals and vibrant red berries. As in Gevrey-Chambertin, the most iconic Grand Cru takes its name directly from the commune: simply Le Musigny. Another legend of Chambolle, building a bridge to the neighboring commune, is the Grand Cru of Bonnes Mares, which spans its hectares between Chambolle and Morey-Saint-Denis. The latter commune of Morey-Saint-Denis is sometimes a bit overshadowed, but certainly belongs among the elite with Grand Crus like Clos de la Roche and Clos Saint-Denis. The wines from here are known for their depth and have an incredible ability to combine intensity and subtlety in a truly remarkable way.
Clos du Vougeot
Clos de Vougeot – Who, What, Where?
The name covers Burgundy's geographically largest Grand Cru, stretching over just under 51 hectares, all within a single walled vineyard. A historic and in many ways unique Grand Cru, which, despite being located right between the communes of Vosne-Romanée and Chambolle-Musigny, does not actually belong to either.
Quite remarkably, the vineyard forms its own commune appellation. The majority is still owned by Château de Vougeot, situated within the vineyard, while the remaining rows are divided among 83 other producers, whom own larger and smaller cuts of the vineyard. Some of these can easily be spotted while driving along the road, where their names traditionally adorn small gates leading into their respective parts of the vineyard.
Exceptional wines are undoubtedly produced here, holding great complexity and, of course, fascinating variations across the vineyard. Some producers even vinify their wines from individual plots within the vineyard. A small revolution for Clos de Vougeot, and perhaps something we will see more of in the future?
However, size matters and thus it is not just difficult, but nearly impossible, to give a uniform description of the wines from Clos de Vougeot.
But to describe some common traits, expect them to be quite generous in style with subtle intensity, and offering a rich and broad palette that range from delicate spring roses and violets to the wild mint, raspberries, and blackberries in the forest, and taking a step deeper into the earthier, truffled and even fleshy notes. The upcoming auction offers a fantastic opportunity to explore the many faces and magic of this iconic Grand Cru. Discover the selection from among other:
