The wine is in good condition as it has been stored at the correct temperature in a wine cooler since purchase. Small scratches on the back of the label, but nothing significant. Wine Enthusiast 96/100. Falstaff 96-98/100.
Wines with cult status. As tradition dictates in Austria, FX Pichler is a distinctly family business. In 2009, son Lucas took over the work in the cellar from father Franz, who is still responsible for the enormous work carried out in the fields. With Lucas, the style has taken a slight turn towards the cleaner and more rigorous. Vinification is once again carried out with natural yeasts, and the aim is to get the most out of his father's respectful work with nature's unique terroir, which has made the Wachau Austria's most famous wine region.
