Domaine de la Grand Cour, Fleurie Le Clos Vieilles Vignes 2022

Le Clos de la Grand'Cour is located south of the appellation Fleurie on a plateau at an altitude of around 300 metres. The 6.4 hectare field is the monopoly of the Dutraive family. The soil is granite and this cuvée comes from the old vines in the Clos, which are approx. 80 years on average. These cover about 1.5 hectares of the field, the remainder ends up in the regular cuvée called Le Clos de la Grand Cour.


The grapes were vinified in concrete vats, after which the wine was aged in oak barrels for 8 months.

This cuvée is considered together with Cuvée Lieu-dit Champagne as the best wines of the Grand Cour. Vieilles Vignes Le Clos is typically a bit cooler and less expressive, which is why it is often overlooked among the other cuvées, but after a few years the terroir emerges and shows what a wonderful wine it is. Can be stored for 10 years without problems.
