Château Musar "Kongen af Libanon" 2016

"The King of Lebanon", they call it! And rightly so - This is the castle's first wine, which enjoys great recognition among wine enthusiasts worldwide.

The wine is blended from equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault and Carignan. The wine is only released around 7 years after the harvest. It is only at this time that the wine is considered to have been opened. Château Musar has incredible aging potential and 20, 30, 40 years is the standard for good vintages!

The color is deep purple with a violet core and a beautiful red rim. In the nose, the wine has both red fruits, plums, licorice, tobacco and animal undertones. In the mouth, the wine is full-bodied, extracted and sweet with an almost caramel-like edge. More plums, violets, dried roses, cloves, orange peel, meat juice and a hint of bergamot. Truly unique!

The wine is full-bodied, warm and spicy. Try it for a strong spicy lamb dish such as braised shank with lamb stock, chilli, chocolate and vegetables. In addition, sweet yams baked with butter and herbs.

Aging: 12 months in French oak barrels
