The first WhistlePig Rye Whiskey aged in Vermont oak casks felled in the area around the WhistlePig farm and designed specifically by Master Distiller Dave Pickerell.
Due to shorter growing seasons and harsh winters, the annual rings in Vermont oak are denser, which affects the whiskey's flavor profile, as each ring has the opportunity to add more flavor and depth to the whiskey. With an aging of 15 years, this is one of the oldest Rye Whiskeys in the world.
WhistlePig 15 years Rye Whiskey is bottled at a strength of 46% (92 proof), and has a warm, rich and creamy flavor profile with notes of caramel and a little dark chocolate.
