2001 Châteauneuf-du-Pape (Restaurant Waldhorn, Kirchheim, Germany): Popped and poured. Deep golden color with amber hue. Nose of fine Manzanilla Sherry, salty, complex and deep. On the palate also very salty, again Manzanilla Sherry notes, very good balance, creamy texture, complex and calm. Unfortunately it lacks acidity and that makes it a bit broader and hot (13.5% abv). With a higher acidity close to great, this bottle around 92




Bought shortly after release. Stored in a wine fridge and then in a temperature-stable cellar.
